Martabat PJ aims to fight for an inclusive, healthy and sustainable life including a commitment to reduce, if not eradicate, poverty and hunger for all. Although we are still a young civil society organization, our achievements have far exceeded our founding goals.

OUR STORY

Martabat PJ, formerly known as PPR PJ, began in 2018 as a volunteer led initiative under the office of the former Member of Parliament for Petaling Jaya. Our mission has always been to alleviate poverty and to address the lack of opportunities for the urban poor of Petaling Jaya.  Martabat PJ's members come from all walks of life and we are ever grateful for their dedication and unwavering support. OUR AIM

THEORY OF CHANGE

WHOLE COMMUNITY APPROACH

MPJ Website Graphics (3).png

Our current aim is to support marginalised groups of people in order to enrich their skills, reach their full potential, and influence change. This is done through peer-led programmes of volunteering; social action projects; the building of skills and assets; developing competencies and by fostering healthy relationships; strengthening the environment; transforming systems; and amplifying the voices of the marginalised groups with key decision makers. It is imperative to meaningfully engage with our target communities to create positive social change for themselves, their families, and their communities so that everyone can thrive.
